DIRECTIONS
Using GPS Type in 244 Muskrat Drive, Chatsworth. Please be advised that GPS is not always dependable. If you enter the address and it shows you to be very close to the intersection of CCC Camp Rd and Crandall-Ellijay Rd, with the turn to Muskrat actually off of Crandall-Ellijay, it is correct. If it shows something else, try typing in 'Crandall' for the city rather than Chatsworth. This actually works for certain GPS systems.
No GPS Travel North on Hwy 411 to Eton red-light. Turn right onto CCC Camp Rd. In approximately 3.5 miles, turn left onto Crandall-Ellijay Rd. After the turn, top the hill and you will see Muskrat Dr. on the right. Follow the signs and/or balloons to our home studio.
CELL SERVICE IS MORE OR LESS NON-EXISTENT ONCE YOU PASS CROSSROADS CONVIENENCE STORE ON CCC CAMP RD. IF YOU LOSE RECEPTION AND NEED TO CONTACT US FOR LOCATION ASSISTANCE, YOU WILL LIKELY NEED TO TRAVEL BACK TO THE STORE TO GET A CONNECTION.
ARRIVAL
Please plan appropriate travel time to arrive at our studio. Drive time from Chatsworth is approximately 15 minutes and Dalton (Walnut Square Mall vicinity) is approximately 30 minutes.
We often schedule multiple mini-sessions on the same day. In order to be fair to all of our clients , late arrivals are subject to a shortened session or may be asked to return at a later time, depending on amount of time remaining for the session. Because we want you to have the best experience possible, we recommend that you make plans to arrive at least 5 minutes before your session.
Your session takes place inside our studio, which you will see to the left of the house. You are welcome to park in the driveway or in the grass facing the row of cypress trees. You may also consider parkingon the street in front of the property. While this would be at your own risk, our street sees very little traffic daily (1-10 cars) so the chance of creating a traffic problem would be very minimal. Please note that if there has been any significant area rainfall less than two days prior to the arrival, we advise that you avoid the grassy areas to prevent the chance of getting stuck.
SESSION LENGTH
Your session will last 15-20 minutes. This will allow ample time to capture several portraits.
Outfit changes are welcome at no additional charge but must take place within your current session allotment (The client following you will be ready to begin 20 minutes after your session appointment time). Please note that we currently have no restroom/changing facility inside of our studio. If desire for an outfit change or need for a restroom does arise, however, we will guide you to our facilities, located inside the house.
PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS
The balance of your session is due on portrait day. We prefer cash or checks but also accept credit cards. Your package cost includes the sitting fee, a disc of portraits and a print release. Please note that those paying by check may experience a delay in receipt of your disc/prints as well as access to your online gallery while we wait for the check to clear.
PRINTS
We are often asked if we have the ability to provide prints. The answer is YES! We have our own, high quality photo printer by Canon in-house for the smaller jobs and work with a professional lab for the bigger jobs. We use special order luster paper, which is the same paper most often utilized by professional labs. So if you need prints and want something better or larger than you can get from CVS or Walgreens, give us a call. We even offer FREE delivery within Murray County on call in orders of $30.00 or more!
OUR REQUESTS
The flooring we use for the living room scene is highly susceptible to damage. Therefore, we ask that any drinks brought into the studio are kept in a minimal spill container and remain behind the photography lights. We also ask that shoes, if wet, are properly dried before posing for photos.
ABOUT THE STUDIO
Our studio is currently housed in a 12x20 portable outbuilding. Because our future plans include moving to a permanent structure, we've chosen not to invest in permanent climate control measures for our temporary building. while we do use a kerosene heater in the winter and a window AC unit in the summer, you may find temperatures inside not to be as ideal as they would be in a standard building outfitted with central heat and air. For this reason, please arrive dressed for temperatures as if you were remaining outside.
Also, due to limited space to work within the building, we recommend that no more than five people pose for a single photo (3 adults maximum). While we will accommodate a larger group at your request, we cannot guarantee a quality picture when a large group is present. This is because the larger the group, the further back the photographer must stand to fit everyone into the frame. Because there are limits to our background space, a larger group means that we may have to go beyond the limits of our background, resulting in a not-as-attractive photo that includes side walls or windows that were not intended to be part of the photo.
INCREASING THE CHANCE OF GETTING GOOD RESULTS FROM TODDLERS
1. Ensure your child is well rested before making the trip. It's been our observation time and again that children who arrive for a photo session and are pulled sleeping from the car rarely warm up to the idea of posing for pictures in the time allotted.
3. Along with rest, make sure your child is not hungry. A small snack that won't get them dirty (such as cheerios) on the way to the shoot can alleviate a situation that may cause them to become restless and irritable.
4. If your child does become cranky or reluctant, we are perfectly okay with taking a break from posed photos and letting them focus on something else for a few minutes. Often after just a few minutes of looking at a book, playing with a toy, eating a few cheerios, etc. is enough to improve their moods. If possible, we will leave them in front of the camera and continue to take pictures while they do their own thing. We have actually captured may 'parents favorite' photos over the years by doing just this!
GOODIES
All children who do well for the portraits will receive a special surprise!
